Drug Uses

Fluoxetine is a drug used medically in the treatment of depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder, bulimia nervosa, premenstrual dysphoric disorder, and many other disorders. It is a psychotropic drug for oral administration.

How Taken

Fluoxetine usually is taken once or twice a day. To be effective, it should be taken regularly. Make a habit of taking it at the same time you do some other daily activity. It may be 4 weeks before you feel any relief from your depression, but the drug's effects should last about 9 months after a 3-month treatment regimen. For obsessive-compulsive disorder, the full effect may take 5 weeks to appear.

Warnings/Precautions

Unless you are directed to do so by your doctor, do not take this medication if you are recovering from a heart attack or if you have liver disease or diabetes. Fluoxetine may cause you to become drowsy or less alert and may affect your judgment. Therefore, driving or operating dangerous machinery or participating in any hazardous activity that requires full mental alertness is not recommended. While taking this medication, you may feel dizzy or light-headed or actually faint when getting up from a lying or sitting position. If getting up slowly doesn't help or if this problem continues, notify your doctor. If you develop a skin rash or hives while taking Fluoxetine, discontinue use of the medication and notify your doctor immediately. Fluoxetine should be used with caution if you have a history of seizures. You should discuss all of your medical conditions with your doctor before taking this medication. Fluoxetine can occasionally cause decreased appetite and weight loss, especially in depressed people who are already underweight and in those with bulimia. If you notice changes in your weight or appetite, tell your doctor. The effects of Fluoxetine during pregnancy have not been adequately studied. If you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant, inform your doctor immediately. This medication appears in breast milk, and breastfeeding is not recommended while you are taking Fluoxetine.

“I want to thank you, not only for providing me with Fluoxetine, but also for providing me and all of the women who use your service with a way to protect our health, bodies, lives and freedom of choice. Where I live, women are often denied access to Fluoxetine, and even sometimes for regular birth control pills. You are really a hero for doing this.”

"I have 4 children. They consist of a 5 year old son, a 3 year old daughter and 2 cats. Pill time has never been easy, especially for my son. Because of the ordeal, I even opted to skip a few doses on more than one occasion. However, once I heard about Fluoxetine I tried it. Well, I no longer have to “hunt” the kids down and force the medicine in their mouths. Thank you, Fluoxetine!"

F.A.Q

Q: Do you ship internationally Fluoxetine?
A: For the present moment we only ship in U.S ( no to all International outside U.S )

What prescription medications are available to purchase on-line?
Paylessforgeneric.com offers a limited number of medications that can be dispensed without a medical examination like Fluoxetine, instead using an online consultation. A thorough review of your medical history from an online consultation is sufficient for the medications we offer, and in order to buy Fluoxetine. An online questionnaire of your medical history will let the doctor decide if a requested medication is right for you.

What are the differences between Fluoxetine brand-name drugs and Fluoxetine generic drugs?
You probably know that pharmaceutical companies carry out extensive research and clinical testing to win approval from the Food and Drug Administration for new drugs. The new drug is then protected by patent for at least 10 years. Hence, a brand-name drug. When the patent expires another drug company can "copy the recipe" for the brand drug. This "copy" is called a generic drug. The FDA requires that generic Fluoxetine have the same active chemical composition, be dispensed in the same dosage form such as a tablet or capsule and be taken in the same dosage as the brand-name drug.
Paylessforgeneric.com recommends the use of a generic drug only when it is "A" rated, the highest bioequivalent rating by the FDA.

More Highlights

Different definition / meanings for the word "Anxiety":
Nonspecific, unpleasant feeling of apprehension, discomfort, and, in some cases, dread and impending doom that is manifested physically by such symptoms as motortension, autonomic hyperactivity, or hyperattentiveness. Symptoms prompt the person to take some action to seek relief. Anxiety can be communicated interpersonally.

Brand Name Drugs
A brand name like Fluoxetine is the trade name under which the drug is advertised and sold. A new drug is protected by patent, so only one manufacturer can produce it. For this reason, brand-name drugs usually cost more than generic drugs. Once a patent expires, other companies may manufacture a generic equivalent.
Standard practice and most state laws require that a generic drug be generically equivalent to its brand-name counterpart. That is, it must have the same active ingredients, strength, and dosage form—pill, liquid, or injection. The generic drug also must be therapeutically equivalent—it must be the same chemically and have the same medical effect.
