Drug Uses

Fluoxetine is a drug used medically in the treatment of depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder, bulimia nervosa, premenstrual dysphoric disorder, and many other disorders. It is a psychotropic drug for oral administration.

How Taken

Fluoxetine usually is taken once or twice a day. To be effective, it should be taken regularly. Make a habit of taking it at the same time you do some other daily activity. It may be 4 weeks before you feel any relief from your depression, but the drug's effects should last about 9 months after a 3-month treatment regimen. For obsessive-compulsive disorder, the full effect may take 5 weeks to appear.

Warnings/Precautions

Unless you are directed to do so by your doctor, do not take this medication if you are recovering from a heart attack or if you have liver disease or diabetes. Fluoxetine may cause you to become drowsy or less alert and may affect your judgment. Therefore, driving or operating dangerous machinery or participating in any hazardous activity that requires full mental alertness is not recommended. While taking this medication, you may feel dizzy or light-headed or actually faint when getting up from a lying or sitting position. If getting up slowly doesn't help or if this problem continues, notify your doctor. If you develop a skin rash or hives while taking Fluoxetine, discontinue use of the medication and notify your doctor immediately. Fluoxetine should be used with caution if you have a history of seizures. You should discuss all of your medical conditions with your doctor before taking this medication. Fluoxetine can occasionally cause decreased appetite and weight loss, especially in depressed people who are already underweight and in those with bulimia. If you notice changes in your weight or appetite, tell your doctor. The effects of Fluoxetine during pregnancy have not been adequately studied. If you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant, inform your doctor immediately. This medication appears in breast milk, and breastfeeding is not recommended while you are taking Fluoxetine.

Missed Dose

If you miss a dose of Fluoxetine and you remember the same day, take it as soon as possible. If you do not remember until the next day, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do not take 2 doses at once.

F.A.Q

What are the differences between Fluoxetine brand-name drugs and Fluoxetine generic drugs?
You probably know that pharmaceutical companies carry out extensive research and clinical testing to win approval from the Food and Drug Administration for new drugs. The new drug is then protected by patent for at least 10 years. Hence, a brand-name drug. When the patent expires another drug company can "copy the recipe" for the brand drug. This "copy" is called a generic drug. The FDA requires that generic Fluoxetine have the same active chemical composition, be dispensed in the same dosage form such as a tablet or capsule and be taken in the same dosage as the brand-name drug.
Paylessforgeneric.com recommends the use of a generic drug only when it is "A" rated, the highest bioequivalent rating by the FDA.
Generic Fluoxetine cost less and competitive pricing by the different manufacturers further reduces the prices. Occasionally, generic drugs may look different from their brand-name versions because the inactive ingredients such as fillers and dyes can be different. However, these ingredients do not affect the safety or performance (efficacy) of the drug.

Is there a difference between the Fluoxetine pills I order from your shop and the ones from the local store?
Ordering Fluoxetine online gives you two advantages:
- It is cheaper than the local pharmacy provides products
- Getting pills form our shop saves you a LOT of TIME!

Q: What happens when I submit my order for Fluoxetine?
A: We tried to maintain the same procedure as you go through if you were to ask Fluoxetine from you doctor. One of our licensed physician will examine your information and then approve or decline your request.

More Highlights

How many online pharmacies are out there?
It is difficult, if not impossible, to answer this question accurately, but it is probably fewer than you would think. Illegitimate pharmacies (usually those that offer online prescribing) open and close on a daily basis. One company posing as a legitimate pharmacy may have many URLs or Web addresses, creating the impression that there are a greater number of Internet pharmacies than actually exists. In addition, pharmacies may only register with select search engines. If these search engines are not utilized when performing a search then all pharmacies may not be counted.
